In continuation to my previous post, below are three design production houses, taken from various areas of this industry.
Sharpshoot Media – ‘Our Proven Process, Produces Results’.
Sharpshoot Media is a local media production company that has already made a name for itself in Malta for various productions for television. It was founded in 2014 and it is currently located in Fgura. As a company, it offers all-round media production services the covers a project from concept to completion, including screenplay, scripting, pre-production and even casting and shooting.
As a media production house, their mission is formulating concepts that successfully engage with various audiences in distinctive ways. Their mission reflects in the work they produce, and this has made them a fan favourite in the local production scene. What makes them stand out from other production houses it that other than following trends of mainstream series and sit-coms that are known worldwide, they come up with a completely new concept and build from there. Creative Works – ‘Every New Idea Starts with Solving the Customer’s Need’.
Creative Works are sign design makers with a business running since 1998. There services range from traditional signage all the way to complete facades and wall graphics as well as installation. Since their inception, they have accumulated a very extended clientele that stems from various business levels, from small family run businesses to multinational franchises.
The company has a small workforce at present, however they are not seeking to expand any time saw, for they see that it benefits them better that they are a small team. Gutenberg Press – ‘Leaders in Print Production’.
Gutenberg Press is one of the leading printing presses in Malta since its beginning in 1982. It prints anything from business cards to books and it is known for its unmatched printing quality and service as well as the turnaround date for production.
In 1996 they moved to larger premises in order to keep with local and foreign demands. By 1999, the printing press business had established itself in the UK publishing market. Progressing to 2004, they set up an office in the UK, where they doubled in production. By 2008, this printing press was suppling clients all over Europe which includes, German, Belgian, Dutch and Swiss clients. Fast forwarding to 2013, Gutenberg Press extended its business to packaging production.
Until this day, this printing press is a staple name with designers when it comes to print production, for it is known for its industry standard quality of their end product.

In Conclusion
The creative industry has grown extensively in recent years, both in practice and in production. Business owners are more than willing to invest in order to innovate are be ahead of their competition. Considering that the market reaches a saturation point quite quickly, unless the business owner decides to go international, one can still find various design production houses on the island.
Moreover, these companies are striving to reach industry standard quality that can be compared to was is being produced in major continents where sources, technologies and even tuition in certain areas are more readily available. Such standards help to catch the eye of creatives and investors alike, putting Malta on the map in the artistic world whilst improving the economy.
